Preschool Storytime - Gwinnett Building Babies' Brains

Preschool Story Hour
Children 3-5 years, enjoy stories, finger plays, music, crafts, and films. The children are also exposed to color, numbers, alphabets and other simple concepts.

Toddler Time
Children 18 mos.-3 years enjoy simple stories and finger plays and songs.

Library Cinema
Circulation / Audio Visual staff show monthly film programs at both Main and Pastrick Branches. Films are shown for adult and family audiences.

Slam Poetry Night - Experience Middlebury - Experience Middlebury

Poetry Slam
Junior high students write original poetry in April and a slam is planned in May. A panel of judges selects 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners. Prizes are awarded.

Summer Reading Program
Children of all ages are encouraged to continue reading during the summer months. Activities are planned and implemented by Youth Services and Outreach.

Cultural Programs
African American, Puerto Rican, Mexican and European Heritage programs, International Day Cinco de Mayo, Day of the Child/Book, and Christmas Around the World are programs that focus on the ethnic groups that settled in East Chicago. Committees consisting of staff and community representatives plan the programs. These programs are funded through the Foundations of East Chicago.
